Hi Whonix developers,
I'd like to start by saying that I'm a huge fan of Whonix. I've played
with it a few times, and as a huge fan of Tor and I2P, I think it's a
very nice project.
I recently created a new project known as Orain (https://orain.org/).
It's a wiki family that has several unique characteristics: amongst
other things, it vets new wikis and helps them, sometimes develops
custom extensions for them, is ad-free, offers forward-secure TLS, and
as a non-profit, is completely community-led.
I noticed that you have a wiki, and I'd like to ask you whether you'd be
interested in moving it to our wiki family. You would still retain full
operational independence and be able to have the extensions you want,
for example, but we would host your wiki on our VPS (Amazon EC2). We use
a system known as CentralAuth, which allows users who have an account on
any of the wikis on our wiki farm to log in to any of the other ones.
I think that this could be a very good fit since we're very focused on
our users, their security and their privacy, much like Whonix. We have
years of experience with MediaWiki and would be able to manage the
technical aspects that are usually skipped on smaller wikis (such as
Memcached, nginx, etc.) You would, of course, be able to keep your
current domain name for the wiki.
Although many of our members are pseudonymous, the co-founder of Orain
(Dustin "Dusti" Muniz) is able to deal with matters that require a
real-life identity, such as purchasing services with a credit card. He
can most likely act as a proxy for those things if needed (I'm reading
from your Contribute page).
Please let me know what you think. You can also join our IRC channel
(#orain on freenode) if you want. A lot of us often hang out there. We
can most likely tend to special requests if you have any.
I've already talked to adrelanos but he suggested that I repost this here.
