I was contemplating how valuable research on hardware side channels like 
yours can be especially for guiding open source hardware engineers when 
making architectural design decisions. The nascent RISC-V project seems 
most promising of its kind and are tapping out their first hardware 
batch. They are creating a new instruction set from the ground-up 
without legacy baggage. The entire chipset design, tools, instructions 
and specs are all open to review and improvement by academics.
